The work is a continuation of a series of works that looked at the Volkisch movement in Germany prior to the 20th century and as such mimics the use of the folk art of paper cutting (scherenschnitte) to tell a tale. Using 19th century engravings from the Bible and folk tales, Ye Souls Depraved connects the dangers of worshipping false idols in moral tales with the centuries of genocide and oppression at the hands of organised religions.
